Dr. Cruz obtained his Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree at the University
of Barcelona, Spain. He earned a rotating internship certificate from the
Harper-Grace Hospital in Detroit and did his residency training in psychiatry
at the Lafayette Clinic, Wayne State Medical College in Detroit. Dr. Cruz is
board eligible with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds
a diplomat status with the American College of Forensic Examiners. He is a
veteran of the Korean War, where he served as a Captain of artillery.
Dr. Cruz has been practicing general
psychiatry in the Livonia area for over 40 years. He sees adults, children,
and adolescents for psychotherapy with or without the use of psychotropic
medication. Dr. Cruz is affiliated with St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia.
Dr. Cruz can integrate mind-body medicine and hormonal anti-inflammation
nutrition in a physical wellness program. Dr. Cruz is a certified independent
consultant for Dr. Sears Zone Health Diet. During his leisure time, Dr. Cruz
enjoys cooking Paellas, traveling, gym exercise, reading, and walking his dog.
